Facility Master Planning
Trinity's respectful stewardship extends especially, to the areas of development planning. We treat your resources as our own, and understand that it is critical for institutions to maximize the value of every dollar spent. We know there are many challenges facing a healthcare facility today. Most notably, the pressure to reduce costs while being more responsive to the patient's needs. Meanwhile, three main issues continue to dramatically affect the industry.
Surgery/Ambulatory Surgery Centers
For virtually all healthcare organizations, surgery represents one of the major sources of revenue and community recognition. Developing surgery centers that can maximize patient and surgeon convenience, reduce operational and staffing costs, improve utilization and respond to rapid changes in technologies and services is imperative as market factors, cost structures and reimbursement become increasingly more competitive.
Cardiac/Cath Labs
Trinity has provided planning, design and construction for Heart and Surgery Services for many health systems across the United States. Trinity not only understands the physical requirements of these centers, but has also done vast analysis regarding the operational and financial gains related to heart services.
Orthopedic
A recent study has predicted that Orthopedic related procedures will increase nearly 9% in the near future, especially as the active baby boomer generation hits retirement age. Implants and less invasive outpatient procedures will continue to affect the landscape as hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers prepare for the growing demand.
Emergency
Emergency care services have and will continue to serve as the initial gateway for many individuals into a health system. For most institutions, the emergency department serves as a primary source of inpatient admissions (ranging anywhere from 20% to 55%) and generates a significant amount of ancillary and follow-up services. Emergency facilities are undergoing dramatic changes in response to market, customer and technological requirements.
Oncology/Cancer Services
Cancer services are one of the greatest health care needs for communities and one of the most marketable and profitable service lines for health care providers. Trinity has worked closely with oncologists and oncology services managers and clinicians to understand the operational and technical requirements for such services.
Radiology/Imaging
Trinity has performed hundreds of planning and design engagements which included imaging and diagnostic services as part of the scope. Whether it is an equipment change, or a complete imaging department design, Trinity is well acquainted with all the imaging modalities, and their functional requirements. Trinity has worked with all the major technologies and equipment vendors, as well as physicists, and end users. Trinity has completed numerous projects involving…Radiography, Flouroscopy, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Bone Densitometry, etc.

Ambulatory
Ambulatory care has increasingly become a way for healthcare facilities to serve the community while keeping costs down and still make patient care and convenience a priority. These facilities serve a wide range of patients and provide outpatient care service such as, urgent care, pulmonary or diagnostic, cancer, imaging centers, hospice and laboratory services. Trinity is well acquainted with all aspects of planning and design of ambulatory centers.
Medical Office Buildings
The development and marketing of medical office buildings is highly competitive and challenging. Physicians are demanding great location, easy access and quality interiors…all for a low monthly lease rate! Success is dependent on creating highly efficient, adaptable and economical and durable structures that project a high quality environment.
Women's Services/OB
Trinity Health Group is a national expert in the design of obstetric facilities. From evaluation of your market and strategies through current design trends, Trinity provides leadership to assure that your facilities are state-of-the-art and respond exactly to the needs of your market, physicians, staff and community.
Hospice/Skilled Nursing Facilities
A recent US government report predicted the number of elderly people needing long term care will double to 14 million by the year 2020. With this aging demographic, the market has responded with a surge of development in Long Term Care Facilities (LTC). This group, commonly referred to as 'baby boomers', grew up during one of the longest periods of sustained economic growth in U.S. history and have enjoyed a considerably higher standard of living than any previous generation.
Public Areas
Trinity has been involved in over 800 health care related planning and design projects over the past 10 years. Many of these projects have involved components of public spaces such as, waiting areas, public lobbies, dining/servery areas, and registration kiosks/desks. Places for family and visitors to gather in celebration or grief play an essential role in hospital design. The designers at Trinity understand the importance of these spaces within the hospital setting and possess the skill to create a space that conveys the hospital's brand, from large comfortable spaces for social interaction to private places for contemplation, prayer or mediation.
Medical Education
Planning and designing for medical education within the dynamic environment of a healthcare facility requires industry know-how, foresight and planning. Trinity is equipped to handle any project from medical libraries to large-scale education centers.
Sterile Processing/Labs
Design plays a crucial role in supporting the sterile processing department. Location is a primary consideration as is the needs of the OR for efficiency, economy and patient safety. The designers at Trinity are highly skilled at understanding the nuances of organization and good ergonomics for each procedure. There must be enough space to work, yet travel time between activities should be kept to a minimum – all while maintaining strict standards for infection control. At Trinity we combine efficient workflow with good ergonomics to design an organized and highly functioning department.
